Kirstin Erath ist Professorin für Didaktik der Mathematik am Institut für Mathematik.

In meiner Forschung beschäftige ich mich mit dem verstehensorientierten und diskursanregenden Lehren und Lernen von Mathematik sowie Fragestellungen zu Chancengerechtigkeit und Teilhabe. Je nachdem geht es dabei um die Rekonstruktion von Chancen und Hürden im Rahmen der Grundlagenforschung, die Gestaltung von Lernumgebungen in Entwicklungsforschungsprojekten sowie die Untersuchung von Gelingensbedingungen und Wirksamkeiten in Interventionsstudien. Meine Forschung ist dabei oft interdisziplinär, drittmittelgefördert und auch international vernetzt.

Meine persönlichen Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Geometrie am Ende der Sekundarstufe 1, Teilhabe an Diskurspraktiken und mathematischen Lerngelegenheiten und Umwelterschließung durch mathematisches Arbeiten mit Realdaten. Diese Schwerpunkte verknüpfe ich oft in Projekten und nutze sie als Basis für meine Forschung im Bereich Fort- und Weiterbildung von Mathematiklehrkräften.
